Curtain Call- Elle

Stylists really have a way of inspiring me sometimes. These days I find myself more motivated and ambitious than ever before. Magazine editors are people that really influence me in a way that can make me challenge myself. I believe that's where my love for fashion comes from. I'm always so amazed by people behind the scene; they make everything incredibly inspirational.

Here is the latest from Elle, Mr. Mario Grauso. The Stylist behind these online published editorials. Presenting graceful evening wear from the New York collections and worn by model/actress Natasa Vojnovic.

Music to free the soul

Blue Sky Black Death- Honestly

You were so close to the cliff
I didn't even care to notice
Rain fell over our heads
My throat trembled and said

I cover myself with your eyes
Cover myself for the first time
See to it that I will have you
Capture you when the warmth comes

Learn how your body moves
When I am next to you
You are the whiskey on my lips
Holding it when I am so far

I choose to forget your name
Far away it will all be the same
Have you break me oh in two
Every time I have to leave you

[chorus]
Please don't you think of me
I'm nothing honestly
Please don't you think of me
I'm nothing honestly

This will come down so hard
We will ache for a new start
In so oh absent arms
To this we'll fall apart

I will arrive on a rainy day
Show face oh at your door
You will tell me all the ways
That I will want you more

On my living room floor
So well I will explore
I will feel this even when
I cannot breathe you in

I don't remember the taxi ride
You will forget how I feel on the insides
This will mean nothing in time
In time this will mean nothing

[Chorus]
Please don't you think of me
I'm nothing honestly
Please don't you think of me
I'm nothing honestly
Please don't you think of me
I'm nothing honestly

My Mother's skirt

My dress is actually a skirt from my mother's closet that I tried on and realized it was long enough to wear it as a dress. I added a brown belt for a bit of contrast. Overall, my mother's skirt is the main influence for this outfit. I love going through old folks closet. They never get rid of anything, it's like shopping at a second hand down thrift store.

A kill for La Roux

In for the kill

La Roux, a European music group who's making way to the top of my play-list. Although I've never had an interest for electronic music the theme song for Bayonet's commercial really caught my ears; I had to find out the name of the song for myself. I did some research on it and found myself fascinated by the lead singer (Eleanor Jackson) of La Roux. Her voice struck me as something different and funky and her sense of fashion portrays her music style incredibly well. I couldn't help but fall in love with her 80's sophistication. It's handsome and charming, what i've always adored.

A little background on La Roux
(article by http://www.last.fm/music/La+Roux)

La Roux are an English electropop “synth duo” band made up of singer and synth player Elly Jackson and co-writer and co-producer Ben Langmaid from London, England, United Kingdom.

Their music is largely influenced by pop music including Eurythmics, Depeche M, The Human League, Yazoo ,and Prince

The name “La Roux” is reported to be chosen like this: Jackson found a book of baby names in a bin and in the book was the name “La Roux”. ‘La Roux’ comes from the French for ‘red-haired one’ (‘le roux (masculine) or la rousse (feminine)’) referring to Jackson’s distinctive hairstyle.

Handbags

Taking a quick snap before leaving the house
Blazer-Norma Kamali, Top-Express, Jewlery-Express, Boots-VS Catalog, Handbag-Thrift

If you don't know yet, I love big sunglasses, Big Purses, and over-sized anything. You will rarely catch me wearing anything body hugging unless it's leggings or skinny's. I'll be so sad when Winter is over. No more sweaters or boots. I'm already seeing swimsuits everywhere...its sad...time to work out and go on a diet. I always fail though :P

A Lover for accessories

Blazer-AE, Skirt-Forver21, Top-Wet Seal, Purse- Liz Claiborne

I love accessories; I think it brings out so much of your personality. Over the years I've collected so much yet not enough. My collection is pretty small still compared to the big stars, but i'm pretty proud of it. I regret throwing all my old necklaces away, but I had to make room for new ones. Now I aim for only unique pieces, cheap or expensive, if i want it...i'll get it. Take a peek.

New York Fashion

There is something about the way people in New York dress that makes me want to move there. You can never go wrong with BIG sweaters, BIG scarves, and excessive layering.

Rodarte for Target

You can't go wrong with these colors.
If you don't already know Rodarte has an awesome line for Target this season. I love it. I was never too fond of the Isaac Mizrahi line, only because it was not my style, but Kate and Laura Mulleavy really captured the essence of modern vintage, which I admire. I really hope these clothes look as great in person as they do on picture. I am so behind sometimes when it comes to designers opening a line for a budget/moderate store. Let's just hope they have my size in stock when i get there (not anytime soon). Either way, I think this is great for Target.

If you don't shop at Target, maybe you should reconsider. Well I wouldn't blame you for shopping at Walmart either (Miley Cyrus does have a cute little line there), but in my opinion Target has a better variety of clothes overall.

Moving on....
You have to focus on your dreams, even if they go beyond common sense.” Anna Sui.
I'm taking this to the heart because it's going to be a tough road to success, but like everyone always says "if you truly want something, you have to do whatever it takes."

I've got a love for magazine shoots

Credits to my sister for snapping quick shots

I have to admit i'm not much of a reader. When I buy magazines I skim over words and flip through pictures, tear out what i like and file it in a folder I'll probably never look at again for months. Below are some of my favorite tear outs and pictures I found online.

1. Megan Fox strolling on the streets
2. Photo off Obey's new collection
3. Lady Gaga on Elle magazine
4. Sarah Jessica Parker on Elle Magazine
5. Fan love nylon
